His Love Shines Through

by Kimberly Dawn

Please note this is not the actual image of what I saw, I just so happened to find this on Dreamstime. If you think about it. What are the odds to find such an image?

Today I had quite a task ahead of me when I had tried to get out of the house early to beat all of the Christmas shoppers but one thing after another kept me from leaving. I was running very late and I sit here and reflect upon what happened I can clearly see there was a reason behind it all.

I was at the store and I had forgotten something I needed in an isle that I had already visited. As I was making my way down the isle I had noticed 7 elderly women shopping all together. I sighed a bit and thought to myself that I am going to be waiting forever to get by. They had carts everywhere and there was not enough room for all of the commotion they were putting themselves through as well as others. At the same time I didn’t say anything because I noticed that they were all filled with joy.

Finally one of the woman noticed I was behind her and she moved to the side to allow me to pass. As I was squeezing through I heard one of them say “Yes we need that for the pantry.” I stopped in my tracks and turned to them and asked if they were shopping for a food pantry. The one woman said yes. I asked if she would be willing to take a donation. Well, it was like time stood still as they stopped their chatter and stared upon me. It felt like forever and they were completely blank within their reaction. After a few moments I broke the ice and I started to giggle and said “unless you don’t need a donation” The one woman replied and said “No, we can definitely use it. She also realized at that point their reaction to what I had just offered perplexed me. So she simply explained that people just don’t do things like this and that was the reason they reacted in a shocking manner. A few of the other ladies agreed with her statement. At that point I really did not know what to say except whom do I make the check out for? As she thanked me for my generosity I said Blessings.

As I was driving home I hit the rush hour in town. It was complete madness and within that madness was a message God wanted me to understand. I started to look around because the traffic was frustrating me and then I decided to look up and I saw some birds flying over me in a flock.

As I sat and watched I felt the Holy Spirit with me. I felt a joy that can not be put into words. What amazes me so much about this moment is those birds that were flying above me had formed the shape of a heart. There were a few strays as there is with any flock but it was a perfect heart. I could not believe what my eyes were looking at.

So if I was not late getting out of the house today, I may not have met those women in the store. I may not have got stuck in traffic. I may not have received that powerful message God wanted me to understand through His birds. That message is He really does love me. God is good.

The apostle Paul tells us in 2 Cor. 4:7 ,” But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.” The Holy Spirit produces God’s love in us and when we release that love it produces joy.
Beautiful story Kimberly ! thanks :)

Fernando, I have learned so much about joy this year through giving myself to Jesus. Before we (Robert and I) gave our life to Him we struggled but the more we lose and give up we are finding more joy and see the blessings we are given as a result of it. The things of this earth are just things but the things we need are not of this earth and we are blessed as God has revealed that truth to us.

Today I was “led” on a path that crossed yours , to this web site. Through the most unlikely of means. Our God is amazing beyond what my meer words can say. I understand what you mean when you talk about the Lord delaying your day to capture your attention. Not sure why but I have such an excitement in me from the moment I watched the video you posted “Don’t come easy”….it feels like I was supposed to be at this place, at this time too.

I loved the story Kimberly!

Yes it is wonderful how the Spirit can guide you where you should or should not go; and when you should go.

My husband had to attend a very important meeting in downtown Pretoria in the late 80s. At the very last minute this meeting was cancelled, much to my husband’s annoyance. At the precise time he was supposed to have gone to the meeting, a massive bomb went off outside the building he was supposed to have the meeting.

That made us sit up and think and we were convinced God had planned it that way.
